    Stop that, rover

    Rover Rover Advice Rover 75 Rover 75 Advice Rover 75 2001
    MY 2001 Rover 75 stops intermittently as though it has run out of petrol, but restarts immediately if I turn the ignition off and on. A full service and check showed nothing. A new fuel pump only aggravated the problem. It stopped five times in one afternoon after the pump was fitted. Can you help?

    IT IS hard to diagnose problems like this without seeing the car and experiencing the problem first-hand. But the fact that changing the fuel pump hasn't fixed anything suggests its not a supply problem. I would look for an electrical fault, possibly even a loose or faulty connection. It could even be a problem with the ECU.
