I bought a new Nissan Navara ST auto in April. As soon as I took it up the highway the next day I realised there was a severe vibration at 107 km/h. The dealer believes it to be tyres and is switching these over for a test, but I suspect there is a problem with the driveline, as there is a higher frequency vibration at lower speeds starting on occasions. There is also a thudding sound when I feather the accelerator in drive in low speed situation such as car parks. To me these should not happen, yet the dealer service department tells me this sound is in a few Navaras he has driven. Have you any ideas about these problems, as I think I am getting a bit of a run-around after four months?
At this stage you should work with the dealer to resolve your concerns. They are already switching tyres to see if the higher speed vibration is due to the tyres, which is a sign they want to work with you. With the other concerns I would urge you to demonstrate them to the dealer, so they are in no doubt as to what it is you don’t like, and press them to find and fix the cause.
