Why are so many Nissan Skylines being sold for under $10,000?

I’m curious as to why there are so many 14-year-old, Nissan Skylines on the Internet being sold at less than 100,000 km for such a low price, like under $10,000. I keep thinking that because a lot of them are grey imports, they’ve odometers altered. I also heard that most Japanese imports are wound back. Can you confirm these suspicions? Or provide any feedback?

It’s against the law to tamper with an odometer, but I’m sure it does go on. If you’re going to buy a car like this you need to have it thoroughly checked by a mechanic who knows them well. An experienced mechanic should be able to tell if a car’s odometer doesn’t appear correct.
