2024 Audi RS6 Avant GT revealed: Wild 463kW limited-edition wagon ready to haul loads - fast!

The RS6 Avant GT will launch in Australia in the second half of this year in “extremely limited numbers”.

Arguably the world’s angriest ‘sleeper’ production car, the Audi RS6 Avant has shaken off any hint of slumber with a distinctive limited-edition GT version.

A total of 660 RS6 Avant GT’s will be produced for worldwide consumption, with a small allocation coming to Australia.

The limited-build model is inspired by the Audi apprentice-built RS6 GTO Concept from 2020, itself a tribute to the brand’s all-conquering Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car from 1989.

It’s distinguished by a carbon-fibre bonnet and guards, a track-ready front splitter, as well as gaping gloss-black intakes either side of the main grille which itself sports a new intake treatment.

The package also features mega 22-inch rims wrapped with 285/30 Continental Sport Contact 7 rubber and a body kit featuring a double-plane ‘pass-through’ roof spoiler, integrated air outlets behind the guards and a specific diffuser.

The go-fast wagon is offered in five colours - ‘Arkona White’, ‘Nardo Grey’, ‘Mythos Black Metallic’, ‘Chronos Grey Metallic and ‘Madeira Brown Metallic’. Over the first three shades buyers will have the option of decal sets using Audi Sport’s signature black, grey and red as highlights.

Underpinned by a lightweight adjustable coilover suspension, unique to the RS6 Avant GT, and a retuned ‘quattro sport’ rear differential, the five-seater’s 4.0-litre, twin-turbo petrol V8 engine delivers no less than 463kW (630hp) and 850Nm to all four wheels via an eight-speed ‘Tiptronic’ auto transmission and Audi’s ‘quattro’ AWD system.

The interior picks up new RS bucket seats trimmed in a combination of leather and Dinamica (synthetic suede) with contrast ‘honeycomb’ stitching in ‘Express Red’ and ‘Copper’.

Although local spec is yet to be confirmed, expect 0-100km/h acceleration in the low 3.0-second range.

For reference, the current ‘standard’ RS6 Avant is priced at $251,000, before on-road costs.
