Following drastic price cuts to the Model Y electric SUV, the 2024 Model 3 Long Range AWD has had $1000 shaved from its price.
It means the Long Range – capable of hitting 100km/h in 4.4 seconds and travelling 629km in the combined WLTP cycle – starts at $70,900, before on-road costs.
The Model 3 Long Range is therefore more competitive with the BYD Seal Premium ($58,798, before on-road costs) while still healthily undercutting the long range Hyundai Ioniq 6 ($71,500) and Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor ($71,400).
The 2024 Model 3 Standard Range remains at $61,900, before on-road costs.
Unlike the Model Y, there are no running changes to the Model 3 sedan. The updated electric car reached our shores with suspension upgrades, visual changes and no indicator stalks in December 2023.
A Performance version, with specs yet to be confirmed, is expected to launch some time this year.
Tesla lists the 2024 Model 3 as available to order now on its website. Its Model Y sibling had a few more changes for 2024 including fresh paint colours, different alloys and more significant price cuts.
