The GV80 Coupe is a new addition to Genesis’ large SUV offering, with a sloping roofline and some small design changes (as well as an alternate seating arrangement) marking its differences from the wagon-style SUV.
The Genesis GV80 Coupe starts from $136,000, before on-road costs, making it the most expensive GV80 offering, and comes with five seats, the same 279kW/530Nm twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 as the SUV, and just about exactly the same hefty list of standard features.
Leather upholstery, heated and cooled massage seats for the front, a heated steering wheel, an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, wireless phone charging, plus the unmissable 27-inch OLED screen for the multimedia and driver display are all standard.
It also has the same fuel consumption (11.7L/100km) claim, the same 10-airbag fitout and safety tech including advanced driver assistance, the same five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty and free servicing for five years or 50,000km as the wagon SUV.
The major difference for practicality is less boot space and a lack of third row. The roofline means the Coupe has 644 litres of luggage space with the second row up, or 1033L with the second row down while the SUV has 735 litres and 1097L, respectively.
